Meet Our Team

Ruth Ann Sletten - Master Stylist / Owner

Ruth Ann originally moved to Southern California from South Dakota with the famous De'Cut Hair International Design Team assisting them with training, education in hair design and opening additional salons. Ruth Ann trained with Toni & Guy and Swartzkopf then honed her personal style and technique. She decided she wanted to offer more services to her clients and ventured out on her own.

In 2000 Ruth Ann made the difficult decision to close her award wining Salon in the Santa Ynez Valley after 13 years of serving the elite Hollywood stars as her clients and move to Idaho. She had decided she wanted to be near her daughter and grandchildren. When she arrived she went to work at the renowned Coeur d'Alene Resort & Spa. Ruth Ann used this time wisely by getting to know the locals and doing her demographics study. This research enabled her to design a fantastic salon and spa with great detail to provide the very best in all-around coiffure, cosmetics and spa treatments.

In July 2007, Ruth Ann partnered with Julie Lind to open Hayden Creek Salon & Spa.

In less than five years after opening, Hayden Creek Salon & Spa was voted the best in North Idaho.

Ruth Ann is an expert in solving complex damaged hair problems, colors gone awry and home perms that did not go well. Ruth Ann is a master in hair cuts to complement and enhance your facial features. She has specialized in all aspects of hair design including Perms and Relaxing. She continues to educate herself by attending national spa & hair shows to gleam the latest styles, products and techniques. She loves to mentor young stylists and encourages them to be the best of the best.

Ruth Ann feels lucky to get to do her job everyday as she loves meeting new people, kindling friendships, and making people look their best to feel good about themselves. Ruth Ann goes above and beyond for special group appointments, such as wedding groups. She provides them with all their special request of eye lashes, nail color, special up-dos, etc. She makes the event a festive and fun party of beauty for everyone by providing wine, cheese and fresh fruit. This all adds to the wonderful memories of the wedding experience and Ruth Ann is truly a professional in this regard.

Ruth Ann has over 30 years of excellent experience and has directed over 19 salons in her career.

Ruth Ann invites you to call or come in to discuss all your beauty needs...because it is all about you!

Melissa Unruh - Esthetician

Melissa is from Phoenix, Arizona where she began her medical aesthetic training under a naturopathic doctor, over ten years ago. She has journeyed through high end resorts, plastic surgeons and retirement communities to expose herself with a variety of skin types and conditions as well as numerous modalities and treatment methods.

Melissa specializes in treatments that exfoliate dull, lifeless skin to reveal and nourish healthy layers. These treatments include microdermabrasion and Dermaplaning, which can both be a solo treatment or incorporated into a facial for added hydration.

Melissa is obsessed with brow shaping and finding your natural arch that will complement your facial structure. She says that a well-defined brow shape can make your look. All of Melissa’s facial treatments include the element of massage therapy. She believes radiant skin is a result of using medical grade products to address the physical needs of the skin, and using massage to address the internal stress of the body that will also contribute to aging.

Jackie has also worked as a massage therapist for the Pedal the Peaks, and Courage Classic bicycle ride teams in the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico.

Her techniques include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular, and Cranial Sacral massage therapies. Jackie is happy to adjust any treatment to your needs.
